Why should you sing?
Singing can be a complicated topic. Some people sing and love to sing and have no qualms or difficulties bursting into song any place or time (🙋guilty!). For others the simple activity of carrying a tune with their voice can be much more complicated, loaded with embarrassment and bad memories. Why? It’s just singing?
How can you be “Anti-Diet”?
Since publishing my website in December of 2022 I’ve had a few questions from visitors to the site about what it means in my “Values” section when I say that I am “Anti-Diet”. They’ve asked me how I can be “anti-diet” - doesn’t diet just mean what you eat?
Meet Nicki
Meet Nicki. Nicki is an undergraduate engineering student at a university in a busy urban centre. She has been having a difficult time dealing with the stress associated with juggling school work, her job, as well as social and family commitments. Her RA suggested that she explore some of the programs which her student wellness centre had to offer, and this is where Nicki was connected to her music therapist.
What do you mean, music *therapy*?
What do you mean, music therapy? Well, let’s think about what we often describe when we talk about why we enjoy music, or what music we enjoy. You might describe enjoying a particular artist because you find their voice beautiful, or you like the instruments that they play. While those things might be true, there’s probably more to it than that.
