A little bit about me…

Lesley Bouza, accredited music therapist holds a mug shaped like a whale as she smiles directly at the camera.

Some of my earliest memories are of music - from singing with my mom to my first piano lesson, music has been a constant companion on my journey. It wasn’t until much later that I realized how useful music could be, not only in my life but in the lives of others as well. While my musical career began as a performer, it wasn’t long before it became clear that I wanted more from my relationship with music. This led me to pursue accreditation as a music therapist. Since then I have worked in various hospital and healthcare settings, supporting others in finding out how they could use music as a powerful tool for themselves.

My approach to music therapy is one which ensures that the client is empowered to find ways to use music in ways that work for them; developing skills and supports which are realistic for their lives and how they would like to interact with music. Everyone is different and as your music therapist I celebrate your differences and I want to be there to guide you as you discover your new, purposeful relationship with music.
